The Astrology of Haumea

This is the first of a series of textbooks on the astrology of the new dwarf planets, based on the research at the Dwarf Planet University.

Probably the most valuable section is the house interpretations, looking at how Haumea manifests in our daily lives with example case studies.

There is also a workbook to locate and on-board this new energy in your chart. And a section introducing each of the dwarf planets to put Haumea in context.

Mercury square Orcus

I hope you are enjoying today's stationary Saturn as he prepares to go direct. For the past few months we have been refining the existing structure of our lives and now we are about to start developing it again. As Saturn has been slowing down over the last few weeks, we've probably felt the approaching pressure to come off auto pilot and start structuring our lives, and we may have been sorting everything out as much as possible in preparation. Now is our chance to start taking those early new steps.

Mercury will be square Orcus at 17 degrees of Virgo over these next days as Saturn turns. This is a challenge between our communication and our karmic consciousness. Basically, it is a challenge to walk-our-talk as we make the first moves to structure our lives in new ways.

If we don't walk-our-talk there is a danger of falling victim to confidence schemes, or to corrupt dealing. These are two-faced activities, where ‘what you see’ is not ‘what you get’, and at the unconscious level we could be playing either role in this deception, the one being deceived or the one doing the deceiving. So check any deals you are involved in carefully.

Or we might behave hypocritically with this Mercury square, saying one thing but then doing the opposite. And while, in the short term we might well get away with this, we inherently sense that in the long term we will always be held to account. This is our karmic consciousness.

As we develop spiritually, we learn to understand this karmic process of life. We are born with certain givens - we have particular parents and live in a certain place - and these givens shape our lives. As we work with these givens, we find we are resolving some things and letting them go, and we are developing other things that are working for us. In this resolving and developing process, we create new karma for ourselves to deal with in the future. This is our dharma, the karma we are creating.

So these next days might well present an opportunity to work through some karma in some way. Or we might find that we are challenged to do our dharma through our communications with others.

At the spiritual level, Orcus enables us to become accountable for our deeds and actions, and we learn to align with some core tenets which provide us with guide rails to help us navigate our life. The development of this creed may come through aligning with the shared beliefs of a spiritual community, or we might develop our own. So we might be thinking out some tenets, or talking about them, in these next days. Articulating personal guide rails for this next Saturn direct period would be a very good use of this Mercury-Orcus square.

As we deepen this spiritual work, we develop the shamanic ability to transmute shadow into light. We learn to salvage the usable parts of the shadow and turn the rest into energy. There are shadow parts to everything, so everything presents the opportunity to transmute shadow and produce a new more spiritual light-filled whole. So, do not be daunted if you discover shadow in your life in these next days, the shadow is simply a resource which you can turn into energy, and you have the endurance and self sufficiency to do that work.

You might like to use these next days to try an up-cycle project. Find an out-of-date and problematic thing in your life, perhaps in the area of life indicated by your Orcus house position, and find a way to turn it into something useful, to recycle it and lift the energy or add value in the process.

If you discover a long term shadow area which you have just accepted, you need to find a new way to look at this. One way we can do this is by finding a way to laugh at ourselves, which is what we do when we participate in any form of comedy. We think we’re laughing at the comedian, but we are really laughing at ourselves. Laughter is a release of tension and when we laugh at ourselves we free ourselves from shadow.

The biggest challenge with shadow work is facing our fear but, frequently when we do, we find that what we were afraid of was just an illusion. Our fear was literally just a shadow without substance, and facing it, or shining a light on it caused it to disappear.

Sometimes when we face our fear we find a real problem. This is where Orcus is really valuable because he gives us a persistence and an integrity, which isn’t afraid to deal with the issue. When we embrace his energy we know that the pressure is best released, and that ‘the problem’ is actually a valuable resource for our growth.

Orcus Early Scholarship

So grab this opportunity to embrace your inner shaman with the support of a likeminded international group. To encourage you, I have a handful of Early Scholarships available on this course which is running alongside Eris in the second bracket. This is the best deal you will get on Orcus and this is the only time it will be offered.

And remember, this course has our new structure with a choice of two Zoom times, giving the British and Europeans a new morning option which is proving very popular. This new Zoom time also gives those in Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul and Perth, an afternoon option, and other Aussies & Kiwis an early evening option.

Join us if you can on Orcus, and thanks for your work embracing these new aspects of consciousness.

Love and laughter

Alan

I absolutely loved the class! As a first time student of astrology, I can honestly say that aside from Alan  (a wonderful teacher and guide), every one of the students in the class was a teacher for me. I learned so much and can’t wait for the next class to begin. - Mary Anne Pitt, USA
