The Astrology of Haumea

This is the first of a series of textbooks on the astrology of the new dwarf planets, based on the research at the Dwarf Planet University.

Probably the most valuable section is the house interpretations, looking at how Haumea manifests in our daily lives with example case studies.

There is also a workbook to locate and on-board this new energy in your chart. And a section introducing each of the dwarf planets to put Haumea in context.

Mars trine Haumea

I hope you are enjoying today's Mars trine Haumea. With this transit we can take action to rejuvenate our lives. Haumea gives us a deep psychic connection to the oneness of our existence and the bountiful nourishment that brings. We are born an individual, but deep inside we know, on a spiritual level, we are all one.

Haumea is always catalyzing rebirth in our lives. She does this by encouraging a spirit of play within the sacred work we are doing. Play requires trust in the bigger picture. We need to allow ourselves to let go and explore the myriad of creative possibilities without judgment, and that way we deepen the sacred. So her energy is playful and creative, symbolizing a constant renewal and a joy in life.

Haumea is also square Pluto at the moment, which is an aspect we've been having on and off for the last two or three years, as Pluto entered Aquarius and Haumea entered Scorpio. Now Pluto has just dived back into Capricorn for a final couple of months, while Haumea is at 0 degrees, 31 minutes of Scorpio, never to head back into Libra until her next cycle.

This square is creating the pressure for change we are experiencing in these years. The world we live in is changing in profound ways and our old ways of living have to change to adapt to the new reality. Hanging onto the old only exacerbates the problem, as I explained in my last blog post on Haumea in July.

The answer is to be open to the psychic renewal available in each moment. However many people today find no connection to the psychic source, so their lives shrivel up and they live in a sort of spiritual starvation, a starvation of life energy. At the unconscious level, we are likely to try to fill this lack of meaningful connection by indulging in the hollow pleasures of consumer society. But no amount of money can buy the connection we seek, so this just leaves us feeling even more alienated.

Haumea is also sesquiquadrate Saturn in these weeks, so this pressure for change and rebirth is challenging us to bring something to fruition in a practical way. Our lives ossify in forms that work for us, or not, as our karma determines. But this week, with the trine to Mars and sesquiquadrate to Saturn, we can take action to restructure these forms. The more we can be open to the magic of being alive in each moment, the better this will work.

Haumea also talks about being part of a family born of a collision with reality, and she teaches us the value of nurturing the disparate aspects of our psychic identity. She throws us into experiences where we collide with consensus reality, but in that collision, we find a like-hearted community. In these situations, we experience our shared interests, which creates a sense of family that transcends biology.

Thus, at the spiritual level, she encourages us to find our community, to connect with a family of souls who can play important roles in our lives, and to find a new way of living together with them. These people may be spread across the planet and may not be the obvious choice, but our connection with them will psychically nourish us and them.

Haumea Scholarships

The community on the upcoming Haumea course is one such family of souls, and while the course is almost full, I do have a handful of scholarships available to enable a lucky last few participants. Be quick to grab one.

Haumea is central to our teaching practice here at the Uni, because she enables us to be open to the wisdom of the community. This is what we are doing when we share our individual experience in the assignments, which helps everyone in the soul family get a fuller picture.

Join us if you can on Haumea, and thanks for your work embracing these new aspects of consciousness.

Love and laughter

“I have been sensing a reciprocity in my study of the dwarf planets. As I shift focus and embrace each of their unique energies, I am in turn rewarded by a richer understanding of myself and the world in which we live.”  Alison Glennie, Ireland
