Just Released!

The Astrology of Haumea

This is the first of a series of textbooks on the astrology of the new dwarf planets, based on the research at the Dwarf Planet University.

Probably the most valuable section is the house interpretations, looking at how Haumea manifests in our daily lives with example case studies.

There is also a workbook to locate and on-board this new energy in your chart. And a section introducing each of the dwarf planets to put Haumea in context.

Mars inconjunct Ixion

Writer's picture: AlanAlan

Today, as a big Christmas present for all our students who have needed more support to do their assignments, and to all those prospective students who don't feel they know enough astrology to even do a course with us, we will be offering individual tutorial help on the courses next year.

The assignments are consciousness exercises which enable you to on-board the planet's energy by seeing it in your life, and, wherever you are in your work with astrology, our tutors will be able to guide you through this process. More on this below.

But first to the current stars. I hope you have been enjoying the last couple of days of Mercury direct. Our period of deep review has come to an end and now we can start realising the results of that new perspective.

Venus is just starting to trine Jupiter, so our values and our luck will be working together over the next couple of days. This means that, tempered by the retrograde Mars that we'll talk about in a moment, this will be a great time for embracing friends and family in this lead up to the festive season.

Jupiter has also just started squaring Saturn, with the exact conjunction in the middle of next week. So, over the next couple of weeks we will be challenged to expand the structure of our lives, and this challenge could come in the form of restrictions or responsibility. When we rise to the challenge of the square - by dealing with the restrictions, or taking on the responsibility - it becomes a strength, so this transit will enable us to shape our lives in these next weeks.

Complicating this, retrograde Mars is inconjunct Ixion at 5 degrees Capricorn, so our fighting spirit is sometimes working with, and sometimes not working with, our seeker consciousness. The inconjunct tells us that, as we decipher this puzzle, we will do fated work. This aspect will be exact on the 19th December and move out of 1 degree orb by Christmas Eve.

Ixion is our authenticity, our passionate nature, the part of us that just wants to follow our heart without regard for other's expectations. And Mars is retrograde, which makes him even more personally focussed than normal. So, with this inconjunct, we could find ourselves doing things that seem reasonable to us, but that unsettle others. Or we might find others doing things that seem reasonable to them, but which unsettle us.

Ixion gives us a passion which, at the unconscious level, urges us to disregard boundaries and to take what we want, when we want it, without any consideration for others. This behaviour is obviously going to lead us into trouble, but we overlook that in the passion of the moment.

In myth, his passion led to retribution and eventually to an outcast, outlaw status, so these themes of passion, retribution, or being an outcast, might also come up in our personal battlefield over this next week.

As we develop spiritually, our seeker consciousness is enabled and this gives us the strength to pursue our personal spiritual passion. This consciousness is what we need to pursue a personal spiritual path in this world, a path which will likely start by accepting our passionate nature.

This path may involve a violation of existing customs and a resulting catharsis, followed by opportunities for a second chance. If it does, keep your eye open for any second chances that may arise, and embrace those opportunities when they do. We need to learn from our experience so we don’t repeat our past mistakes.

This aspect has been within a 1 degree orb since the 10th of December and it will move out of 1 degree orb on Christmas Eve. So, in this lead up to the festive season, we have a fated opportunity to embrace the freedom to be ourselves, to forgive our missteps and to learn from our mistakes. We will do this best by being sensitive to the spoken and unspoken agreements that we have with others, so we know how passionately we can follow our bliss and be ourselves.

Mars was also inconjunct Ixion last month, when our warrior energy was direct, and it was exact on the 21st November. So we did something fated and passionate in the second half of November, and this week we may be dealing with the results of that in some way. If you get a second chance at something that didn't work out as you wanted last month, honour the opportunity and learn from last month's mistakes.

Ixion - Retrograde Mars Special

If you want to embrace the passion to be yourself, jump into our Ixion course at the start of next year. As we study these new planets and see them in our lives, we onboard the consciousness, so this is a great course for those new to the Uni, because Ixion gives us the passion to follow our heart.

If you've been interested in the courses but felt that up till now you couldn't do them, take advantage of the new tutor support and use this Mars inconjunct Ixion to enlarge your comfort zone by enrolling. To encourage you I have a one off Retrograde Mars Special which gives you the course for the same cost as the Early Scholarship.

And remember, this course has our new structure with a choice of two Zoom times, giving the British and Europeans a new morning option which is proving very popular. This new Zoom time also gives those in Singapore and Perth an afternoon option, and other Aussies & Kiwis an early evening option.

New Tutor Support

The other big change next year is our new Tutor support program. There are a mix of ongoing students and new students on the courses, and because some new students struggle to complete the assignments, we are bringing in small group tutorials to help those who need it.

The assignments on the house placement, aspects and transits of Ixion in your personal chart are consciousness exercises to help you onboard the energy of the planet. Now if you don't even understand what houses, aspects, and transits, are, we will be offering individual tutorial help to do these assignments. Wherever you are in your work with astrology, our tutors will be able to guide you through each of them.

The tutor on Ixion will be Xenia Zykar, a Ukrainian graduate, living in the Netherlands. She has spoken at the British Astrological Association Conference and been published in the Journal of the International Society for Astrological Research.

Celebrating our 4th Birthday

We run a southern hemisphere school-year here at the Uni and this means that we're heading into our summer break. This was our fourth very successful year of operation in which we doubled our student numbers, with almost 40 students on each of Haumea and Varda, and another 20 on Gonggong in this last course bracket.

Capping the Zooms

However the big classes don't give individual students enough contact time in the Zooms, which is why we are introducing the two Zoom options on each course next year and caping each Zoom at 25 students.

The only Zoom that works for our American students however is the existing Zoom time, 9pm GMT, as the new time is in the middle of the night. So just a note to the Americans that we currently have 18 on the 9pm GMT session of Ixion. Get in quick to connect with your seeker consciousness, before we have to turn off the 9pm option.

New Stars for a New Era - Xmas Gift

And finally, my book New Stars for a New Era: A Consciousness Workbook for our 10 New Planets is going from strength to strength and I am including a new review in full below from Gill Dorren in the Astrological Lodge of London Magazine. Here is a snipit;

"I found the book both enlightening and enjoyable. If you are interested in dwarf worlds or not, it’s a wonderful experience to read. I would recommend this, as stated for beginners or experienced astrologers plus New Age or Traditional practitioners of our art too."

If you like the book, please spread the word. Talk to a friend about it, or, better still, give it to a friend as a Christmas present.

Join us if you can on Ixion and thanks for your work embracing these new aspects of consciousness.

Love and laughter

Alan

I absolutely loved the class! As a first time student of astrology, I can honestly say that aside from Alan  (a wonderful teacher and guide), every one of the students in the class was a teacher for me. I learned so much and can’t wait for the next class to begin. - Mary Anne Pitt, USA
